This morning governor Doug Ducey announced that all Arizona school will remain closed for the rest of the school year in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. While this is not the way any of us hoped 6th grade would end, our work and time together is far from over.
1- We will be hosting a Zoom meeting for 6th grade students (and any parents who would like to join) on Wednesday, April 1st, 2020 at 10:00 am. During this time, Mr. J. and Mr. Sepe will provide an opportunity for 6th graders to connect with their peers and answer questions about what the rest of the year will look like. 2- Over the past weeks of the closure, we have offered optional supplement resources to keep students working on important skills. We will be offering more structured academic content through google classroom beginning Monday, April 6th, 2020. This is a developing situation that we will work together to figure out. We recognize that the extension of the school closure might be unsettling for your child, and we will do everything we can to ensure his/her emotional, physical, and academic well-being during this time, using our remote learning platform. Stay safe, stay connected, and please reach out if you have any questions. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for each and every member of our 6th grade community at Taft.
-Mr. Sepe Dear 6th grade parents and students,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! Thank you to all of you who stopped by room 21 for meet the teacher night. It was pleasure meeting each of you! I can already tell this is going to be an amazing year! Please sign up for classdojo so that we can use that app to communicate throughout the school year. Also, please make sure any paperwork you received tonight gets signed and returned to the school ASAP. Continue to check here for regular updates and news. It's going to be a phenomenal school year! -Mr. Sepe I can't believe that the 2018-2019 school year is already over! I am so proud of how much our 6th graders have grown this year, and I know they are ready to be successful in junior high! I will be teaching summer school here at Taft so if you need assistance locating any materials your child may have left behind, I will be here to help through June 20th. Thank you all for an amazing year! You are always welcome to stop by in the Fall for a quick "Hello!" Have a summer full of rest and relaxation!
Peace, love, and best wishes, -Mr. Sepe Can you believe there are only 17 days of 6th grade left?! This year has gone by unbelievably fast, and we are on the brink of returning to where this school year began: heat, long days, and summer! We are working very hard to ensure these last weeks go as smoothly and memorably as possible-- more details will be sent home soon. Let's all work together to end 6th grade (and elementary school) in a positive way.
